The Queensland Liquor Act

The Liquor Act 1992 and the Liquor Regulation 2002 regulate the sale and supply of liquor in Queensland.

The Act is administered by Liquor Licensing Queensland.

The Act not only affects licensees and their business but also the general public. For example, it sets the rules for the way licensed premises trade, including providing for the responsible service of alcohol and the regulation of noise from licensed premises. It also gives the public an opportunity to object to applications for new licenses.

A copy of the Liquor Act 1992 and the Liquor Regulation 2002 can be downloaded and printed from the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel.

Authorised hard copies can be purchased via the Queensland Government Printer (GoPrint).
