Since 30 December 2002, restrictions on the type and quantity of liquor that can be brought into (or through) various remote Indigenous communities have been introduced in Queensland.
Alcohol Management Plans have been developed by Community Justice Groups and contain recommendations for declaring all or part of a community area a:
Those planning to visit, travel through or pass near any of the following communities must ensure they are aware of the laws. There are heavy penalties for anyone breaking the law (fines up to $37,500 for a first offence and up to $75,000 for a third offence).
