Consultation on the review of the Liquor Act 1992 is now closed.
Over 8,000 submissions were received by the closing date of 13 March 2008.
These submissions have now been reviewed and the final proposals announced by the Premier and Treasurer on Thursday 17 April 2008.
The Governments's final policy positions are outlined in the Outcomes of the RIS/DPBT public consultation process for the liquor reforms (PDF 332kb).
A Discussion Paper was released on 10 April 2006 seeking public comment on a range of issues to consider whether the current liquor laws need enhancing. The Discussion Paper was released to stimulate comment and closed on Friday 2 June 2006.
Analysis of the feedback is contained in the position paper - A Report on Liquor Reform in Queensland (PDF 3.7mb) released on 2 December 2007.
A Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) and Draft Public Benefit Test (DPBT) (PDF 761Kb) was released in February 2008 with 8,400 submissions received by the closing date 13 March 2008.

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT), as part of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General, is also publishing a RIS for public consideration on changes to the Security Providers Regulation 1995. The document will be of interest to the liquor industry and providers of security personnel to the liquor industry.
